Getting started
How does the free assessment work?+
Pick any paper marked Free, download it, sit it under timed conditions at home, and upload photos or a scan of your written answers. An examiner marks it and returns a full feedback report within 48 hours. No card details are needed at any point.
Do students need to print the paper?+
Printing is easiest, because students should write by hand exactly as they will in the exam. If you cannot print, students can write answers on lined paper numbered to match the questions and photograph those instead.
Which year groups is this for?+
Years 7 to 11. Years 7 to 9 use levelled assignments and topic tests; Years 10 and 11 use full mock papers, topic tests and past papers.
Marking
Who marks the papers?+
UK-based qualified subject teachers, most of whom mark for AQA, Pearson Edexcel or OCR during the summer series. Every script is marked by a specialist in that subject, never by an algorithm.
How long does marking take?+
48 hours from upload for a single paper. During the January and May peaks we guarantee 72 hours, and we tell you the current turnaround before you upload.
Is any of this AI-marked?+
No. AI is used only to pre-sort uploads by subject and check image legibility. Every mark and every comment on the returned script is written by a human examiner.
What exactly comes back?+
The annotated script, a mark breakdown per question, a topic-level percentage, grade boundary placement for that paper, and a written report with three prioritised actions. For English you also get two of your paragraphs rewritten at the next band up.
Papers and boards
Which exam boards do you cover?+
AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR across Maths, English Language and Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science.
Are these real past papers?+
Both. Our mock tests are written by our examiners to the current specification so they are unseen. We also mark genuine past papers if a student has already worked through the mocks.
Payment and accounts
Where do I pay and manage my account?+
Papers are chosen here, then your basket carries over to our secure app at app.gcsefeedback.co.uk where you sign in, pay and upload. You will not be asked to create an account on this site.
Do you offer subscriptions?+
Yes. Monthly plans covering a set number of marked papers per subject are available in the app once you have signed in. Individual papers can always be bought one at a time.
Can I get a refund?+
If a script comes back and you do not think the feedback is useful, tell us within 14 days and we will either re-mark it with a second examiner or refund that paper in full.
